Badminton coaching

learn badminton. don’t just sweat.

Technique-first coaching for players who want to understand the game, not just run around a court.

The approach

i teach. that’s the whole difference.

Most coaches make you run drills until you’re exhausted and call it a session. Every session I run is built around technique and fundamentals, so you leave understanding why a shot works — not just tired from hitting it.

We slow the shot down, find the part that’s actually costing you the point, and rebuild it until it holds up at full speed. Then we put it back under pressure and see whether it survives.

You leave with corrections you can repeat on your own — a cue you can say to yourself mid-rally, not a vague ‘move your feet’. Fitness is a side effect of playing well. It is not the point of the session.

What a session actually covers

01

Grip

How you hold the racket decides which shots are even available to you.

02

Footwork mechanics

Split step, chassé, recovery to base. Arriving early is most of the shot.

03

Racket preparation

Early, high, and identical for every shot, so nothing you do telegraphs.

04

Shot construction

Why the shuttle is going there, not just how to hit it there.

Specialty

doubles is the headline offer.

Rotations, positioning, and the first three shots. This is the part of the game most club players never get taught properly.

Rotations, positioning, and the first three shots. This is the part of the game most club players never get taught properly.

Rotations

Front-back, side-to-side, and the exact moment you swap.

Positioning

Where you stand before the shuttle moves, not after it lands.

Service and return patterns

The first three shots decide most doubles rallies.

Partner communication

What to call, when to call it, and what to stop calling.

Attacking and defending shapes

Getting into attack, and getting out of defence without handing over the rally.

Singles players are welcome — doubles is just what I coach best.

Rates
